Designed Around the Size of Your Event

The Dirty Olive can support weddings, parties and corporate occasions for approximately 30 to 250 guests.
Smaller occasions may require one mobile bar and two team members, while larger or busier events may need additional staff, refrigeration or serving points to maintain an efficient service.
Events with more than 180 guests are planned individually so the bar layout, stock capacity, staffing and equipment are appropriate for the venue and expected demand.
For larger public events and festivals, Owl Events can provide scalable bar operations using multiple bars, experienced service teams and additional event infrastructure.

01

Operated by owl events

The Dirty Olive is operated by Owl Events, combining hospitality experience with the practical knowledge gained from planning and delivering events across Guernsey.

03

More Than a Mobile Bar

The service is designed around the wider occasion, not simply the drinks being served. The bar layout, menu, staffing and service style are planned to complement the venue, guest numbers and atmosphere of each event.

05

Proven at Guernsey Together Festival

Owl Events is also the team behind Guernsey Together Festival, which welcomes more than 3,500 people and operates 3 seperate bars with 3 seperate themes, over the festival site. That large-scale experience shapes how every Dirty Olive booking is planned and delivered.

02

Planned Beyond the Bar

The team understands that a successful event bar involves much more than serving drinks. Licensing, staffing, stock, refrigeration, card payments, guest flow and service planning all need to work together.

04

One Coordinated Service

From the initial enquiry through to setup, service and clear-down, The Dirty Olive provides one coordinated point of contact. Bar equipment, drinks, staffing, licensing and service requirements can all be planned together, reducing the number of separate suppliers an organiser needs to manage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does The Dirty Olive’s pricing work?

Every booking includes two separate elements: a service fee and an agreed minimum drinks spend.

The service fee covers the planning, staffing, equipment, setup and operation of the bar. The minimum spend is reached through drinks purchased during the event and can be funded by guests, the organiser or a combination of both.

Are the service fee and minimum drinks spend both additional charges?

The service fee is always payable by the organiser. The minimum spend is not an additional charge placed on top of the drinks sold. It is the minimum total value of drinks that must be purchased during the event. All guest purchases and any drinks funded by the organiser count towards that amount.

What is included in the service fee?

The exact inclusions depend on the size and requirements of the event, but a standard service can include:

  • The Dirty Olive mobile bar

  • An experienced service team

  • Planning and preparation

  • Setup and clear-down

  • Drinks-menu development

  • Stock ordering and preparation

  • Ice, mixers and standard garnishes

  • Cups and bar equipment

  • Card-payment facilities

  • Licensing coordination where required

  • One point of contact throughout the planning process

The pricing guide provides an indication of the service normally included for each guest range.

What happens if the minimum spend is not reached?

If the combined value of guest purchases and organiser-funded drinks finishes below the agreed minimum, the organiser pays only the remaining difference.

For example, if the agreed minimum is £1,000 and total drinks sales reach £900, the organiser pays the £100 shortfall.

What happens if drinks sales exceed the minimum spend?

There is no penalty or additional minimum-spend charge when sales exceed the agreed amount.

For a guest-paid bar, guests simply continue purchasing their drinks. For a fully hosted bar, the organiser pays for the actual drinks served.

Can guests pay for their own drinks?

Yes. The bar can operate as a fully guest-paid service.

Every drink purchased by guests contributes towards the agreed minimum spend. If guest purchases reach the minimum, the organiser pays only the separate service fee.

Can we put money behind the bar?

Yes. The organiser can provide an agreed bar tab, welcome drinks, table wine or selected hosted drinks.

Once the hosted amount has been used, the service can change to a guest-paid bar unless another arrangement has been agreed. Both the hosted contribution and guest purchases count towards the same minimum spend.

Can the entire bar be hosted?

Yes. The organiser can pay for all drinks served during the agreed service period.

The menu, budget and service arrangements are agreed before the event. Spending limits, selected menus or approval points can also be discussed to help keep the overall drinks budget controlled.

How many guests can The Dirty Olive cater for?

The Dirty Olive can support weddings, parties and corporate occasions for approximately 30 to 250 guests.

Smaller events may need one bar and two team members. Larger occasions may require additional staff, refrigeration, equipment or serving points. Events with more than 180 guests are planned and quoted individually.

Can you provide bars for festivals and larger public events?

Yes. Owl Events can create scalable bar operations for larger public events using multiple bars, additional refrigeration, larger service teams and further event infrastructure. These services are planned and quoted around the venue, attendance, service period and expected demand.

Can the bar be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. The Dirty Olive can operate at both indoor and outdoor venues.

The setup is planned around the available space, access, ground conditions, weather protection, power supply and any restrictions imposed by the venue.

Can you arrange the alcohol licence for the event?

Yes. Where an event-specific licence is required, The Dirty Olive can coordinate the relevant licensing process as part of the booking.

The venue, event date and proposed service hours will need to be confirmed early enough for the required application process.

Can we supply our own alcohol?

The Dirty Olive does not currently provide a service where clients supply their own alcohol.

We manage the drinks stock directly so that licensing, stock control, product quality and service arrangements remain properly coordinated.

Can we choose the drinks menu?

Yes. Drinks menus can be designed around the occasion, guest preferences and available budget.

Beer, cider, wine, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks and alcohol-free options can all be included. Bespoke products are subject to availability from suppliers in Guernsey.

Can you provide welcome drinks and table wine?

Yes. Welcome drinks, reception cocktails, prosecco, table wine and toast drinks can be included within the event plan.

Their value can count towards the agreed minimum drinks spend.

Do you offer alcohol-free drinks and mocktails?

Yes. Alcohol-free beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and mocktails can be included so that non-drinking guests have a varied and considered choice.

What prices will guests pay at the bar?

Drink prices vary according to the menu and products selected, but The Dirty Olive aims to remain in line with comparable bar prices across Guernsey. The proposed menu and selling prices are agreed before the event.

Can the bar remain open for longer?

Yes. Additional service time can be included in the quotation.

Longer service periods may increase the service fee, minimum drinks spend and staffing requirements.

How do we request a quotation?

Select the enquiry option and provide the event date, venue, expected guest numbers, required service hours and preferred way of funding the drinks. The Dirty Olive will review the information and recommend the appropriate bar setup, service fee and minimum drinks spend.
